Music for YouTube Videos

Marketing your content, products, services and launches?

If you’re like many marketers today who have embraced video in their online marketing for its tremendous power, then you already know the many ways that it produces results. In creating a sales video for product launches there are many little details to keep in mind, but in this post, we’ll talk just about the quality of your production.

Production QUALITY always comes from great source content.  For example, low resolution images and poor audio at the outset will always result in a poor quality video at the end.  Since this is an AUDIO BLOG, we’ll talk about your audio track.

Generally speaking, a sales video contains a music intro, at least one more music track, some sound effects, an ending track (often a music stinger), and sometimes a voiceover (narrated content).  To BLEND the variety of audio components that you put into your video, you’ll need something that MIXES the audio files.  Sometimes this is done right in the software that you create your video in, and if not, you can create your soundtrack in an external audio editor (for example Audacity, Adobe Audition, Wave Lab etc).

Music for YouTube videos should be MIXED … meaning BLENDED.  As each segment ends and the next one begins … fade the first one OUT and fade IN the next.  Voiceovers should never be overpowered by the music.  Be sure that your voice is CLEAR and easily understood, even at lower volumes.  Before posting the final version of the video, check it first on more than one computer to make sure that the voice can be heard.
